Macadamia Kernel
The macadamia kernel is the edible portion of the nut-in-shell (NIS), carefully graded into styles based on international size standards.
STYLE 0
Large whole kernel (20mm or over) used primarily in premium quality snack products.
STYLE 1
Minimum 95% whole kernel with a size range of 17–21mm, typically grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers.
STYLE 1s
Whole kernels above 16mm and 14mm used in snack products, confectionery, and premium food ingredients.
STYLE 2 & 3
Blends of whole and half kernels in customizable ratios to suit specific applications or price points.
STYLE 4
Smaller half kernels and large pieces used in a wide range of snack and ingredient applications.
STYLE 4L (LARGE)
Large half kernels, the most versatile style, used in snacks, confectionery, cereals, and cooking.
STYLE 4S
80% half kernel and chunks, passing through a 14mm screen and held on a 12mm screen.
STYLE 5 TO 7
Kernel pieces from 3mm to 12mm, commonly used in ice cream, baked goods, cereals, health bars, salads, and food service.
